This past weekend we celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2013. Festivities began on Friday evening when the junior class hosted the graduation dinner, Willy Wonka style. Guests were served by Oompa Loompas, a gigantic blueberry girl and other characters from the movie
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The juniors presented each senior with their very own Golden Ticket and then the seniors showed us a video of their senior trip. The evening ended with the always popular senior slideshow, with highlights of the past year.
Saturday morning 12 Burkies were graduated by their peers in traditional Burke style. All of the speeches were heartfelt, moving and often humorous. Faculty member David Chamberlain gave the
commencement address and brought the crowd to their feet. The Burkie Ranger chorus sang a lovely rendition of David Bowie's "Changes". Later that evening the senior parents hosted a barbecue at the Inn at Mountain View Farm which ended in a fun dance party.
Please join us in wishing the Class of 2013 all the best!
