Close of Winter Term

Believe it or not, this is officially the final week of the Winter Term! To honor and celebrate the great job done by our four winter term students: Gray, Sammi, Carissa, and Sophie, a violin concert was performed during lunch announcements. Students Orli and Sarah and faculty Lindley van der Linde played three tunes that told a story of the experience of a winter term student. Upon arrival in December everyone is excited but nervous, then come February everyone settles in developing close friendships, skiing fast and studying hard. Sadly, in March, the term comes to an end, and everyone must say goodbye. The good news is that all four will hopefully return to the BMA community next fall, and they'll be hungrier and more energized than before.

Spring Fever!

With the warm temps lately, the students have been enjoying the outdoors in ways other than on the ski hill! Today they initiated an all-school game of Capture the Flag. Seemed like a heated contest!

Spring Training

Here in the East we are enjoying late spring temperatures but they are taking a toll on the slopes. The FIS men were hard at work maintaining the poma track today.

Meanwhile out West, Luci, Steph and Brianna are enjoying some powder before the Nor Am Finals at Vail this week.

U16 VT State Championships at Burke

BMA hosted the Boys U16 VT State Championships February 27-March 1. The community rallied to pull together a wonderful race series. We had the help of many volunteers even with the postponement of the SG from Monday to Tuesday due to weather.  There were many smiles to be found and fun to be had. Our U16 boys skied fast, supported one another and had impressive results.

Travels of the FIS Women

The FIS Women have been on the road a bunch lately....

First to Middlebury for a FIS SL, where BMA alumna Mardi Haskell '12 took the win. But more exciting for us was the Lucia Bailey took the U19s win and Anna Bruce was 3rd. Go Luci and Brucie! :)

Day off in Woodstock, VT - at Parker's house - Happy Birthday Momma Biele! :)

Proctor ski area and lodge - cool old skis! I spotted some from my racing days. :)
Sophie and Annie are on the porch warming up - it was a beautiful day!

At Sunapee our girls brought in some hardware, or more specifically, some tuning equipment and chocolate! It was awesome to see their good skiing come through on race day.
Above Alli and Sophie were 3rd and 1st, U19s respectively.

Emma claims 3rd overall.

We stayed at the Maple Farm Inn in New London, which was a homey, old farm house. This was the breakfast scene each morning. And it was a great breakfast!

On Day 2 Brianna MacDonald took the win and Sophie was second for overall and U19 results.
Way to go girls! First FIS win for Brianna!
