BMAFit Games!

Yesterday marked the final all-student workout of the spring. The always fun, and kinda tough, BMAFit Games (CrossFit style).

May 25-26 we ran the length of the state of Vermont from Massachusetts to the Canadian border celebrating the 38th Green Mountain Run. Here are just a few photos of the epic event. We are collecting more and hope to have a slide show to share in the coming weeks.

GMR T-shirt Parade

Every year before the GMR begins, the Seniors put on the T-shirt Parade, showcasing many of the past GMR shirts, and then the person who creates the new design gets to unveil this year's t-shirt. Senior Harry Laidlaw and Sophomore Paige Lorenze created the shirt, and Harry wore it for the parade. Here are a few photos showing old and new.

Proctor Academy Circuit Race

BMA traveled to the last bike race of the season hosted by Proctor Academy at the New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon. The course was a short, smooth loop which encouraged aggressive racing. Every Burkie rode as hard as they could. Our best finisher was Jack with a 6th in the Men's B race, a placing that doesn't do justice to the work he did. The entire race Jack was up in the first few positions, driving the pace and chasing down and neutralizing attacks off the front. BMA didn't leave empty handed, though: this race featured primes (pronounced "preems"), prizes on offer for winning sprints at intermediate laps during the race. McKenna won the prime for her race, a 12 pack of Coca Cola!

Crawfish Boil

On Saturday Burkies were treated to a spicy Cajun feast. There was an endless supply of crawfish and shrimp along with cornbread, potatoes, corn on the cob, and salad. There were a few landlubbers who had burgers and hot dogs and everyone washed dinner down with delicious sweet tea. Many thanks to the Lynch family for bringing a little bit of Louisiana to the North!
