Last day! Group photo!

We've had a great camp in Les Deux Alpes, with really good weather and snow. We are feeling lucky! Especially too, since we were supposed to be in Mt. Hood and we've heard that it has been 97 degrees in Government Camp! That's about 20 degrees warmer than the warmest it normally gets there in the summer. Craziness.

Thanks to Feef and her GoPro for this fun and funny group shot!
Thanks to all the athletes for a fun and productive camp!! Have a great summer!

On snow scenes

We've had great weather for the past five days and it looks like it will remain sunny for the last two also. Here are a few group photos from "Les Deux Alpes 3600," as they called it (3600 meters), where we have been skiing lately. It is the uppermost part of the glacier with moderate terrain and great snow!

Day off in Venosc

I'm a couple days days behind but here are some photos from our day off in Venosc. Venosc is a little town from the 1600s that is approximately ~1,000' below our town. We took the gondola down to check it out, and also walked / hiked to a waterfall. It was very cool to see an original French village, not like the resort town in which we are staying, with cobble stone streets, potted flowers on every window sill, a blue-green glacial river, and locals going about their business on a quiet Sunday afternoon.

Cleanest Room Champions

We asked everyone to clean their rooms yesterday and then did room checks. This one was immaculate and super well organized. Nice work girls!

Some days just make you tough!

After what was probably the best summer training I have ever seen yesterday, the balance of the universe has been restored with a tough weather day today. Although the visibility wasn't great, the snow was perfect. Here are pictures from both days - what a difference! Despite the tough precipitation and visibility this morning, the girls each got 9-11 runs of slalom - I'm pretty proud of them for taking advantage of every minute up there. The boys were on the front side of the mountain, and I couldn't see them (or anything else), so I'm sorry for so few boy pics. I know Christin has more photos she'll share from our off day and our workouts over the last few days, too!

The main T-bar: our training has been off the top of this lift and around the back, incredible and much less busy!

Daily post from France

HI KIRK HERE IS MY DAILY POST.

Here's the view from the top of the main T-bar lift at Les Deux Alpes. Pics of your kids to follow, since I know you're all a little more anxious to see their smiling faces instead of scenery, but can you believe this scenery? Holy moly - what an incredible spot!

L2A Today

Today started a bit foggy up on the hill, but cleared by the end of the day, and the snow was good throughout, albeit soft. Some pics from dinner last night: spaghetti carbonara & panna cotta, which is evidently Killian's new favorite dessert!

Fun in the sun in France

The U16 and U14 group has joined the FIS men in Les Deux Alpes, France. Not be repetitive, but Rolf is correct: these mountains are spectacular! It's incredibly beautiful here, and we arrived just in time for some absolutely perfect weather. Since today was our first day on snow, most of us didn't shoot video, which really freed up the cameras for some still photos!

Also, all the kids have arrived, are safe and happy, and wish to tell their parents that they love you and appreciate you and that if/when they fail to call you it's because the internet here is not great. We'll keep trying to keep up with the communication, but don't stress if you don't hear from us - bandwidth is at a premium!
