New to BMA! Integral Curriculum for Cultural Intelligence: French.

Right now we're in the process of launching an integrated approach to learning French at Burke Mountain Academy!

This approach is integral on a number of different levels:

-The development of language ability is integrated with the development of cultural knowledge and intelligence.

-The language learning process integrates multi-modality experience including kinesthetic, auditory and visual aspects and both right and left brain activating activities.

-The development of language ability is integrated with the development of character, with a focus on self-awareness and the ability to communicate and cooperate with others.

-The development of language ability is integrated into the day to day activities of students both in and out of class as a community of language speakers is cultivated by design.

-The development of language ability is integrated when possible with students’ neuromuscular integration, sensory-motor awareness and general athletic development.

-The development of language ability is integrated when possible with the interests of students and with the content of other academic classes.

Here we are learning the alphabet by integrating sound analysis and grouping with fast reaction games for unconscious fluency development.

By connecting ASL gestures with new language patterns we integrate kinesthetic, auditory and visual experience.

We circle up to build team spirit, focus attention and optimize our cooperative and competitive learning power!
