Yesterday we drove 1:20hrs. over to Timaru on the east coast. It was neat driving there; it helped us to understand how agricultural the island nation is, and how unpopulated it is beyond the cities! We saw many big sheep, cattle, and pig farms on our drive!
We didn't know what to expect in Timaru, but it was super beautiful! It was an odd feeling to be surrounded by palm trees and the beach in the middle of their winter, but we were psyched about it. The architecture was quite funky. I'm sure the girls can show you more photos of their experience; they were on their own exploring so I only ran into the few posted here.
