Walking

In American Lit we are reading and discussing Thoreau's essay "Walking" in which he urges us that if America loses its natural, wild spaces we will lose places to walk and thus think: "I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright."

Fortunately BMA has a big beautiful campus and the class devoted 30 minutes to silent, independent walking that the students will turn into written reflections.
