First day on the Training Hill!!

Everyone is psyched that we are back on our home hill. There is tons of snow and the conditions were quite good considering it was the first day. The snow is a bit variable but it will get better as the days pass. The weather put on a show for us on day 1, with fog hanging low. But today (day 2) was great and the snow set up well over night. Here are a few photos from day 1.

Watching the World Cup - still in Colorado

John and Moriah are still in Colorado for a Tri-region Speed camp and Nor-am Speed races at Copper. The day before the camp they were able to watch the Beaver Creek World Cup GS! What a great race to watch for Moriah's first WC experience!

Canadian World Cup Coach Speaks to Us

Tim Gfeller, the Canadian Women's World Cup Technical Coach spoke to the U16s and U14s last night. I would argue it was one of the best speakers we've had in my memory! He shared a few things he thought differentiate World Cup skiers from young club skiers. He encouraged our athletes to become students of the sport, know their equipment, know their bodies, understand their skiing, and pay attention to the details. The athletes had awesome questions for him after too!
