School is Still Happening!

Geometry students are focused on their test on circles on Friday morning.

Overall students have done a nice job staying engaged and should enjoy a break and return charged up for the sprint to the finish!

The East Comes Through in the Parallel Slalom at U16 Nationals

Today we finally raced the Parallel Slalom and it was a fun, chaotic event. Here are some photos from the day.
Liam, Anna Foley (BBTS), Ava Mattson (KMS), Sophie, Anna, Olivia

Anna on the red course

Liam on the red course - he got 4th on the day! I think he raced 11 times (maybe more?!)

It's kind of hard to tell, but this is one of the ruts by the end of the race - the edge of the rut is about as high as my waist. And my skis are sticking up out of the trough.

Team East pride - 2000 Girls - Abi Jewett (GMVS) 2nd, Tatum Coutu (BBTS) 3rd

More strong skiing from eastern girls -1999s - Mikayla Lathrop (SMS) 1st, Hannah Utter (GMVS) 2nd
(Yes, I am related to Mikayla - she's my cousin.) :)

1998 girls - Cecily Decker (NYSEF) 1st, Storm Klomhaus (USTA) 2nd, and our Olivia 3rd!!!

A Visit to the Center of Excellence

ALl the U16s got a tour of the COE, which is a pretty impressive place. They also heard from the USST Sports Science guys, and had a Q&A with US Ski Team coaches.

Not April Fools - just April 1!

Hard to believe these are the conditions here at Burke on April 1st. We are SO happy to finally see some spring-like temps (or maybe that's just me?!) but the plus side is certainly very evident: having mid-winter conditions here in the first week of April is pretty unbelievable!!

U16 Nationals - Parallel Slalom Postponed

We tried to pull off today's race, but the conditions were deemed too unsafe. We will try again tomorrow.
Dumping wet snow at Park City Mountain Resort

Anna slipping - notice the piles of  sugar snow with which we were dealing.
