Sunrise

This was the scene as we set this morning. It's a 7:30am lift and it is barely light!
It was great training today - the snow is hard, granular, and grippy.
And we are training next to Lindsey Vonn! Sweet! Mikaela shows up in a couple days.

Round Hill, NZ

We had an awesome first day skiing with brilliant blue skies, sun, and the temperature just above freezing. The temp was perfect for the snow to stay good all morning, while also easing those of us used to the summer back into winter!

The top is a nice flat, then it breaks over. In the distance is Lake Tepako, and our town is at the far end. It was an interesting 35km gravel (wash-boardy!) drive from town to here!
At the top: Kirk, Luci, Steph, Bri T, Alli, Megan, Lexi, Isabel, McKenna, Jessica
 Birthday girl Bri!! with Gigi
Looking up at the central part of Round Hill. We will train along the t-bar. There are a few trails and lanes out of site on either side.

We made it to New Zealand!

We made it! My brain isn't functioning well enough right now to tell you how many hours we spent traveling to get here, but it was surely well over 24.

The lake and mountains here in Lake Tekapo are pretty sweet!

Cape Cod Track Intervals

10 laps of work around this track at Monomoy Regional High School on Cape Cod this morning was tough but fun! Many thanks to the Burke crew who showed up and gutted it out: Yale, Gray, Patrick, Christian, Tory's cousin Henry, and a guy named Johnny.

As usual I forgot to take a picture (blame the lactate buildup in my brain), but it was a great installment of the dryland traveling road show. Next stop: back in East Burke. Anyone up for a mountain bike ride?

Work-out, Meet-up, summertime style

While we are in the Lakes Region of NH for a family vacation, Sam sent an APB to all known Burkie residents (and seasonal vacationers) of the area to join him for a trail run this morning. McKenna and Bridge were the first participants for what we hope to make a tradition of the summertime. As all Burkies know, suffering is more fun with friends.

Next stop: Cape Cod!! Let us know if you're on the Cape or can get there for a group workout!

Random?

Can you determine if an event is part of a random pattern from just one observation?

Lena, Wolfgang and DI meet up on the summit of Mount Mansfield this afternoon.
