Who is setting??
"Setting by committee," as they say... it is usually when a coach sets and every other coach around thinks their opinion should be heard...
... this time some U16 girls wanted to set. There was a lot of laughing, and also some bickering, but all in all I think the group set went pretty well. Each girl played a part - one to lug gates, one to measure, one to drill the hole, one to put the gate in, and one to advise.

Hands-on Calculus
Today's hands-on activity in calculus was using the shell method to build a volume of revolution.
We broke the volume into a series of concentric shells. Each shell is a rectangle with a length of 2pi*x, a height of f(x) and a width of dx. Once we cut out all of the rectangles, we rolled them into concentric cylinders to get the volume of revolution.
